Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) 1 Day Course –
The Emergency First Aid at Work Course is the most basic First Aid requirement for HSE First Aid at Work guidelines but can still offer enough training to provide First Aid in the workplace cover. This course is recommended for candidates who work in a ‘lower risk’ working environment.
The 1 day EFAW course is to last a minimum of 6 hours and candidates have to be present throughout the course. Practical and theory examinations are still required to ensure every candidate is competent and has an understanding of recognising illnesses and treating injuries.
Emergency First Aid at Work Course Syllabus –
- Understand the role of a first aider
- Manage a casualty who is unresponsive but breathing normally
- Manage a casualty who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
- Burns and Scalds
- First Aid Kits
- Control of Bleeding
- Managing Incidents
- Recording & Reporting
- Defibrillator user training
All certification will last for up to 3 years and refresher courses should be done before the 3 year period ends or the certificate will expire.
